Science Month Celebration : “Harnessing the Unknown: Powering the Future through Science and Innovation”

he 2025 National Science Month, with the theme “Harnessing the Unknown: Powering the Future through Science and Innovation,” reminds us of the power of curiosity and discovery. Every September, schools across the Philippines

celebrate this occasion with activities that highlight how science can improve lives. These events encourage students to see science not just as lessons in textbooks, but as a way of thinking that can shape the future.

During Science Month, schools hold quiz bees, investigatory project exhibits, poster- and slogan-making contests, and even robotics or invention showcases. These activities allow students to apply their knowledge in creative and

practical ways. They also spark teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation—skills that will be vital for future scientists, doctors, engineers, and leaders. In a country like the Philippines, where challenges such as climate change and disasters are real, these activities remind young learners that science has direct connections to everyday life and community development.

Science Month is more than a celebration; it is a call for action and inspiration. By engaging in these events, students learn to value both knowledge and responsibility in using science for the good of society. The coming decades will demand innovations that are ethical, sustainable, and inclusive. With young minds trained through activities like these, science and society can work together to harness the unknown and build a brighter future.

Resilience

Climate change happens mostly because of the things people do, like burning fuel for cars and electricity, cutting down too many trees, and the way factories and farms work.

These activities release gases such as carbon dioxide and methane that trap heat in the atmosphere, making the Earth hotter. Sometimes nature also plays a role, like when volcanoes erupt or when the sun’s activity changes, but these are not as strong compared to the effects of human actions. That’s why climate change today is happening so fast, and it shows how important it is for us to take care of the environment.

Climate change refers to long-term change of weather pattern and temperature. Climate change has been a huge problem, severely affecting many organism and putting dangeron their lives by altering their habitats through phenomena like extreme weather and arising sea level. These changes can lead to food shortage, disruption in life cycle and spread of diseases.

Filipinos are known for their resiliency, especially when it comes to facing the impacts of climate change. Despite experiencing strong typhoons, floods, and other natural disasters, many communities show unity, cooperation, and hope in rebuilding their lives. People often help each other by sharing food, shelter, and resources, proving the value of bayanihan during hard times. Filipinos also adapt by finding ways to recover quickly, such as creating disaster-preparedness programs, strengthening houses, and supporting environmental efforts. This resiliency does not mean the challenges are easy, but it shows their  courage and determination of Filipinos to rise again no matter how strong the storm is.

Intramurals: More Than Just Games, It's the Vibe!

Wow, what a week! Intramurals just wrapped up, and my head is still buzzing from all the energy. Every year, I think it can't get any better, but somehow, it always does. It's not just about who wins or loses; it's about the entire experience, from the adrenaline on the court to the cheers from the stands, and even the chill moments in between.

My friends and I were practically screaming ourselves hoarse from the lower bleachers. You could just feel the intensity radiating from the court with every dribble and shot. It's crazy how much effort everyone puts in, and that energy just spills over into the crowd. Even when our team wasn't playing, watching those close matches had us all on the edge of our seats. That feeling of shared excitement? Unbeatable

And the stage was on fire during Mr. And Ms intramurals! The contestans were absolutely amazing, they really pur their hearts in answering during the QnA portion. Their performance was also very good! And of course, I cheered for our candidate, and I am so happy to say that we won! The 10 Falcons got the crown for Ms intramurals 2025!

Intramurals is more than just a series of games—it's a snapshot of our school spirit and a testament to what we can do when we all come together. From the heart-pounding plays on the court to the vibrant performances on stage, every moment is a chance to show our skills, support our friends, and create memories that will last long after the final whistle blows. It's a reminder that sportsmanship and community are just as important as winning. What an unforgettable week.

My Enjoyment in Learning ICT Quarter 1💜

My journey on this 1st quarter have been so hectic, there are many activities that has to be submitted on time, and i have to balance my studies and responsibilities on our school organization. But despite all of these I manage to find the happiness on this journey. My learnings will surely retain, cause this first quarter has been so memorable. My learning on our subject, ICT 10 are the history of the computer, and all about the Internet and bloggs.

During our discussions, I was amazed by how the internet was developed. And of course, I was also amazed by the  people behind the internet. I was also incredibly astonished by the creation of the Internet, and its terms that were obviously “old-school”

that greatly helped shape what it is today, like “gopher” and “cyberspace”. Some of the problems I encountered are difficulties in keeping up in our lessons, the slow rate of the computer lab's Internet leading to difficulty in accomplishing our activities. In contrast to all of this, I faced them positively and chose the right decisions. In keeping up with our lessons, if I receive difficulty in comprehending a certain topic, I would ask my teacher or classmates if they could help me in understanding well about it. Furthermore, about the slow rate of the computer lab’s internet, patience really is the key. One situation is when my blog didn’t load up immediately, I would just calmly wait for the website to register that I was signing in my account. Or when the internet really couldn’t help the class properly study, we would take home our activity to solve it on our own because the internet at home is definitely faster than the one at school.

Moving on, my experience in the first quarter of ICT 10 is very crazy and fun. Although I have faced many problems within the first quarter, it was always about the enjoyment that I had in learning. There were many fun activities and discussions held within the computer lab, and I am glad to say that I was eager to learn.

A call for action

 Dear Mr. President

I hope this letter finds you well. I wrose this letter as a concerned citizen who has

followed your administration with a hope of progress. However, I want to express the growing disappointment of your decisions you made under your leadership.

When you took your seat as a president, many, including I am, were optimistic about your promises of improving our nation. We hoped to see an action for the issues that the Philippines have been facing for years and years. Unfortunately, I haven't felt that those promises have not yet been fulfilled. Many of us Filipinos have been eager for a better and progressive nation.

I am profoundly concerned about poverty, an issue that we've been facing for decades. I hope that the government will focus on this issue. I am also concerned about those said projects that have not done, like the flood control programs; don't left us, citizens, questioning where are those funds have gone to. Let us face the more realistic concerns.

I hope that we could finally achieve those changes that we're hoping, I hope that these last years of your term will show renewed commitment to the people who entrusted you with this great responsibility. We are watching and waiting, with hope.

                                                                                                                  Sincerely,

                                                                                                                   Kayhryn💜

Good Nutrition is the solution

"Good nutrition is the foundation of vitality and longevity," Every year nutrition month is being celebrated, to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Thos campaign serves as a reminder to us that good nutrition is the structure or foundation of a strong body, sharp mind, and a balance life. This celebration encourage us to promote healthy habits and practice a better food choice for a balance lifestyle.

The main goal of the celebration of nutrition month is to raise awareness about the value of eating the right food for a balance diet. As an officer of the STEP club, I took part in celebrating nutrition month in our school, and it was really fun. To promote awareness, the TLE club together with the STEP club prepared various activities that could help

remind students the importance of good nutrition for a better life. They said that we are what we eat, so we could choose what's right for our nutrition. Choosing what's right also extends the longevity of our life. The changes in your life and health starts in your plate, so choose right and live longer. Practicing leisure activities can also help to improve your health. A simple walking or doing household chores is a big help already, practicing these daily can help you grow stronger.  Right food choice can also help us to keep our mind sharp and be attentive in classes. intake of vitamins and minerals is also important in keeping our body healthy. But we must also watch what we consume.

To conclude, maintaining your health is very important. We can get a lot of benefits, such as, avoiding diseases, having a sharp mind, and your body is capable in doing activities. Overl all, we  should take care of our health and we should look out what we are consuming.

About myself

As I reflect to myself, my personality interest, value, and desires, it would be comparable to one phrase; "silent but joyful." this is the best phrase that I think would describe me. Like an essay, the further you, read the more information you will gather. It is the same as getting to know someone, the more you know the person the more you will understand their personality. In this blog you will explore more about me.

At first I might be quiet and mysterious to you but as we get closer, I would literally talk about my whole life and get humorous. My favorite color also describes me, the color purple has different

meaning base on your interpretation. It is the same as I am, my personality will be different base on who you are and your treatment to me. I am also creative. I love designing things and creating and artwork. And also, I wish to be doctor, I'll do my best to become one. If not, I want to be an interior designer one day.

To conclude, I might be quiet at first or boring, as we grow close I might not be that boring at all. Just like the sea if you look at it it's plain and nothing surprising but as you explore it may be fun or scary , or dangerous, or surprising base on what direction you will take. It is the same as I am my personality might be different base on  who you are to me.
